Treat Toenail Fungus

The toenail fungus treatment consists of:

  • Keep your feet dry after showers. Nail fungus loves moisture. Talcum powder before putting on your socks can also help to keep them dry during the day.
  • Don't share nail clippers or towels which can pass the fungus.
  • Wear cotton socks. Cotton socks wick away perspiration keeping your feet dry.
  • Remember your shoes. When under treatment don't forget to shake some antifungal powder or spray into your shoes to avoid picking the fungus back up.
  • Wear slippers in public showers and changing rooms to avoid picking up toe fungus from public floors..
  • Antifungal agents. These can be topical nail paints like Penlac, creams, or ointments like Tea Tree oil which can take up to a year to clear. Or oral tablets like Lamisil which take about 3-6 months to clear toenail fungus.
